People no longer have to wait in traffic for hours in urban areas. Red light will be removed from the traffic post. Alternatively, over bridges and approach roads will be arranged. It will be discussed and decided soon. Similarly, extensive arrangements of CCTV and lights will be made to control crime in urban areas. State Housing and Urban Development Minister Dr. Krishnachandra Mahapatra informed this.

State Housing and Urban Development Minister Dr. Krishnachandra Mahapatra said, “Metro train is a big system. All relevant information has been taken. There will be a thorough discussion in the coming days. The metro rail project has been given to the Delhi Metro Authority. It is moving forward. Further discussion is on how to implement it at a fast pace.” There will be metro connectivity. We are keeping an eye on the traffic problem in Bhubaneshwar. Steps will be taken to solve the red light problem.

The minister added, “Common people are suffering due to traffic problems while going to and from office. They are stuck in traffic for hours. We will take steps to make it easy for common people to travel and for office goers to reach office on time. By removing red lights, people’s journey is easy. Steps will be taken to control crime in every corporation. Lights will be installed in all major cities.

The Minister said that a plan will be prepared to remove the red light or make an alternative arrangement. At the intersection where the traffic is jammed for hours, there will be over bridge, road arrangement on the side of the intersection and other plans will be prepared. Since this is a long-standing problem, a plan will be discussed with the departmental officials. The budget system will be evaluated. The urban development minister also said that he will take the help of the center if necessary as it is a double engine government. He said, “The Prime Minister has respect and love for Odisha. The Central Government must support whatever is required for the development of Odisha.”
