East Coast Railway (ECoR) convened a Zonal Rajbhasha Implementation Committee Meeting at its headquarters, Rail Sadan, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar, to reinforce the use of Hindi in official work in alignment with the Government of India’s Official Language Policy. The meeting highlighted ECoR’s commitment to fostering the use of Hindi in all levels of operations.
During the meeting, General Manager Shri Parmeshwar Funkwal underscored the significance of integrating Hindi into official communications, particularly through e-file, e-office, and official notings. He urged staff to prioritize drafting notes and correspondence in Hindi, emphasizing its importance in daily operations.
To further enhance the use of Hindi, several key initiatives were announced:
• Regular Inspections: Scheduled visits to Stations and Divisional Units will be conducted to monitor and promote Hindi in official tasks.
• Rajbhasha e-Patrika: A dedicated e-magazine will be launched to provide reference materials and encourage creative Hindi writing among staff.
The meeting saw participation from Additional General Manager Shri Mohes Kumar Behera, along with Principal Heads of Departments, including Mukhya Rajbhasha Adhikari and Principal Chief Electrical Engineer Shri Alok Sahay.
This gathering serves as a crucial reminder of East Coast Railway’s dedication to making Hindi an integral part of its work culture, ensuring effective communication and adherence to the Rajbhasha initiative.
