Today on the occasion of 89th Foundation Day of Odisha Police, I would like to congratulate all the members of the Khurda Guards Force, and extend my annual greetings to all my respected journalist friends and retired police friends who have wasted their valuable time and are here, as you all know. April 1st is a memorable day not only for the police department but for all Odisha residents. Because exactly 88 years ago today, Odisha was recognized as a separate province on April 1, 1936, with the efforts of the then elite leaders of Odisha, Mr. Navakrishna Chowdhury, Utkal Gooram Madhusudan Das, Mr. Harekrishna Mahatab and other elite leaders, and from that day Odisha Police was set up to fulfill its responsibilities with a small number of personnel. Although the rate of criminalization, anarchy and law and order situation has increased rapidly, the morale of the police force has been boosted by the provision of radios, vehicles and modern weapons. Some of the personnel working in the district police have done a remarkable job and were honored today by receiving certificates and money from SP Khurda.
