Who will be the Chief Minister?

In the recently concluded assembly elections in Odisha, the BJP emerged as the single majority party after losing to the BJD and proceeded towards forming the government. Preparations for swearing-in are in full swing. Therefore, there is a good chance that the BJP central leaders will install any of the elected MLAs in the Chief Minister’s seat. On the other hand, it cannot be said that one of the winning MLAs will not put an OBC, tribal, dalit candidate in the seat of the chief minister.

50 government officials have been selected to take charge of preparations for the swearing-in ceremony at Janata Maidan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and State Minister Amit Shah along with chief ministers of NDA-ruled states are scheduled to attend the event. However, regarding the swearing-in ceremony, the state president of BJP held a formal discussion with Vijaya MLA, district president and other functionaries through video conferencing on Friday.
