The Indian Railways has decided to award 101 employees and officers with the Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Padak. The selected employees and officers will be honoured by the Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, on December 21, 2024, at a grand ceremony in Bhartiya Mandapam, New Delhi.
Fifteen railway personnel have been selected for the award for their outstanding efforts in innovation, increasing Railway revenue, improving productivity, reducing dependence on imports, and promoting the use of indigenous technology.
Sixteen employees and officers have been honoured for their extraordinary bravery in safeguarding lives and Railway property, selflessly prioritising others’ safety over their own.
Seventeen officers and employees have been selected for their significant contributions to increasing Railway revenue and preventing ticketless travel and revenue theft.
Twenty-two employees and officers have been recognised for their exceptional contributions to Rail operations, safety, security, and the enhanced protection of Railway assets.
Sixteen employees and officers have been selected for completing various projects in record time.
Two sportsmen who have performed exceptionally well in national and international sports competitions, bringing glory to Indian Railways, have also been selected for the Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Padak.
Thirteen officers and employees from medical, personnel, track maintenance, and other departments have also been selected for the award.
The selected employees and officers come from various railway zones, including Central Railway, East Coast Railway, East Central Railway, Eastern Railway, North Central Railway, North Eastern Railway, Northern Railway, North Western Railway, South Central Railway, South Eastern Central Railway, South Eastern Railway, Southern Railway, South Western Railway, West Central Railway, and Western Railway.
