The fifth phase of the 18th Lok Sabha elections is scheduled to take place on May 20, 2024. Voting will commence at 7 AM and conclude at 5 PM

In the previous phases of the Lok Sabha elections, voter turnout has seen a decline. In the first phase, 66.14% of voters participated, down from 69.89% in 2019. The second phase saw a turnout of 66.71%, compared to 69.64% previously. The third phase had a turnout of 65.68%, a decrease from 67.3% in 2019 

. Notably, Jammu and Kashmir saw a significant increase in turnout, rising from 14.39% in 2019 to 37.98% this time. Telangana and Odisha also experienced slight increases in turnout. In Telangana, 64.74% voted compared to 62.69% in 2019, while Odisha saw a turnout of 73.97% compared to 73.95% previously. Overall, the Lok Sabha elections are being conducted in seven phases, with the final phase scheduled for June 1, 2024. The counting of votes will take place on June 4, 2024.
